Dixon (Pauline Quirke)
Dixon is a servant in the Hale house. Her character is defined by her love for Mrs. Hale. She tenderly describes the first time she met Mrs. Hale when they were both young. She thought Mrs. Hale was the most beautiful and kind thing she'd ever seen. This love makes her follow wherever the family goes no matter how much she disagrees. She puts up with a great deal and is extremely loyal. She represents the lower class of the old aristocratic way of living. She serves out of a feeling of love, loyalty, and inferiority.
